Our Youth Homelessness Advisers are jointly funded by the Department for Education (DfE) as part of the department’s contribution to ending rough sleeping, particularly for care experienced young people. The team is made up of people with operational experience of managing homelessness services and leading improvements in service delivery, at a senior level. The Homelessness Advice and Support Team (HAST) was set up to provide advice and guidance to local areas implementing the HRA, and continues to work closely with local authorities on delivery of the new duties, improving homeless services and performance. This is an exciting time to join a high-profile team and provides a great opportunity to work collaboratively across sectors and help influence the delivery of services to prevent young people from becoming homeless, and ensure looked after young people are supported through a successful transition to independence. The Government has committed to eliminating rough sleeping in the term of this parliament, and to fully enforce the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA). ![]() The Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities’ (DLUHC) job is to create great places to live and work, and to give more power to local people to shape what happens in their area.
